Some people don't like the level process. You can use it on a alt if you want to level your main the regular way. If you'd like a mount, you can use the 80 boost on a class you want as a alt then do the first story line of PoF to get a mount which you can then use on your main while leveling it.
Guild Wars has effective levels, which means your level will be changed to match the zone your in. So you can continue to do sub 80 zone after you boost. The only difference is you'll be able to try out all your basic game skills. it's up to you in the end, but it doesn't mean you can't learn how to play if you use it.
Eat XP boost food. Use guild banner for another XP boost. (If one is available) Hit Diessa Plateau and start kill everything on the map especially the yellow mobs. Rinse and repeat. The longer mobs are alive on the map the more bonus XP they will give. You can get around 10 levels in an hour this way.
Swap to sword for more melee friendly fights. Gear is mostly Valkyrie with a few Assassin pieces to get your crit to 30% (with food). This is enough to give you 100% crit with Fury and Retaliation up (with Radiance tree it gives 50% crit, 10% damage boost and 250 ferocity. It also passively stacks might up to about 8.)
/r/GuildWars2 is the primary community for Guild Wars 2 on Reddit. after talking to an NPC there to either consume the boost to keep that character at level 80
4-stat gear give the exact amount many builds need to reach 100% in expertise and/or concentration when combined with traits. Celestial gives the exact same values as the low number in 4-stat gear, so you can freely use this in place of Viper, Ritualist, Minstrel etc to reach the cap on the small values. You will in every case be missing stats
Buying HoT with PoF isn't the same as "buying HoT" like other people did. They paid $60 for the expansion and that slot. Path of Fire was half the price at its most expensive and later gives away HoT for free with purchase, so no slot because the expansion was technically retired (hence the give away of the outfit and other related items) and doesn't exist anymore beyond the unique Masteries.
im looking at this lvl 80 ticket for 2k gems which is only worth $35. For one character boost on wow i can level up boost only one toon for the price of two on gw2. So is this just guild wars devs being generous compared to wow devs or is this a statement saying that even the devs think that the 1-80 grind is just pointless lmao.
For most experienced players, the shared inventory slot is probably more valuable than the level 80 boost. Your existing characters will be getting birthday presents that include free scrolls that will set your new character's level at 20, 30, 40, 50, or even 60, and every month you get a bunch of Tomes of Knowledge from the daily login reward as well.
